Anna McKellips
WESTVILLE -- Anna Mae McKellips, 70, a former teacher at Washington Township School for 20 years and a founding board member of the former Vale Day School, died Monday in LaPorte Hospital.
She was born Jan. 4, 1912, the daughter of Harry and Bertha (Burt) Steward, and married Allen Scott McKellips who died in 1958. On March 25, 1960 she married Roland "Cy" McKellips who survives.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso, Delta Theta Tau and Delta Kappa Gamma sororities, Valparaiso Order of Eastern Star and National Honorary Teachers Sorority.
Survivors include a son, R. A. McKellips of Florida; two daughters, Faith Veltrop of New Mexico and Marianne Gilbert of British Columbia; and six grandchildren.
Services 1 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home; the Rev. Alan Campbell officiating; burial Door Village Cemetery; visitation after noon Wednesday.
