Martin Adelman was the third child of Lorenz Adelman and Margareta Gillig born on 23 Jan 1850 in Külsheim, Germany.

He immigrated with his parents and siblings to the United States. They arrived at the port of New York on 13 May 1867.

At the age of 21, he married Mary Kay Fischer on 27 Aug 1871 in Minnesota. They had five children together.

At the age of 33, he married Emily Passenow (nee Neuindorff) in 1883. They had four children together.

Martin passed away on 08 Aug 1931 in Saint Michael, Minnesota. He was 81 years, 6 months, and 16 days old.
