She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Jennie Angel Mashburn. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Hobert Hardin, who died in 1976; three brothers, Avery, Clate and Cecil Mashburn; and sister, Alice Gore.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton for over 70 years. She loved quilting, crocheting, cooking and canning, and she loved her flowers and garden.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois H. Chason and her husband, R. Foster Sr., of Taylors, S.C.; and Alieta H. Cable and her husband, Wiley, of Canton. Surviving siblings include two sisters, Deeda Elmore, of Franklin, and Lola Ferraro, of Leesburg, Fla.; sisterin-law, Romanell Mashburn, of Franklin; brother, Dean F. Mashburn, of Franklin.. There are four beloved grandchildren, Dr. Foster Chason Jr. and his wife, Carol; Dr. Steve Chason and his wife, Amanda; Candace Wingfield and her husband, Dean; Cynthia Hay and her husband, the Rev. Stephen Hay. There are five extraordinary great-grandchildren, Evan, Travis and Charles Wingfield, and Kathrine and Elliott Hay. She was loved by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Canton, with the Rev. Ed Oakley officiating.
Burial will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Gardens
