Charles William Baker, Sr., 91, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville.
He was born November 11, 1927, in Waxhaw, NC, to the late Luther B. and Juanita Byrum Baker. Mr. Baker was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy. He was a retired Nationwide Insurance agent and ended his sales career with AAA Carolina Motor Club. Mr. Baker was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Mooresville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Baker, Jr.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Ann White Baker; son, Dr. Charles William Baker, Jr. and wife, Anne; brother, Carl F. “Butch” Baker and wife, Sandy; sister, Sarah Baker Hinson; grandchildren, Charles William Baker III and wife, Jeanne and Elizabeth Baker Bledsoe and husband, Kendal; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 18 at Central United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Ross O’Neal and Dr. Charles W. Baker, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
