A native of Grant City, Mr Watson had operated a greenhouse in Avenue City for several years. He operated a greenhouse in King City for the past five years.
He hosted the radio show "Curly the Old gardener", at noon on KFEQ for many years.
He served in the navy, Quartermaster Second Class Virgie Hubert Watson, aboard the U.S.S. Fresno.
Mr Watson was a member of the King City Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn; a stepdaughter Mary Lou McClain, ; three brothers Ralph Watson, Carl Watson, & Ernest Watson; five sisters, Faye Overstreet, Alice Watson, Ellen Cooper, Edith Miller, & Betty Boyer; & three stepchildren.
