Elizabeth (Hardman) Fuller was the daughter of James and Mary Hardman. Elizabeth was one of the women instrumental in the formation of the Ladies Library Association of Traverse City, Michigan. Although the Association wasn't formed until 1878, she was one of eight who on the hot afternoon of 23 July 1869, met to talk over the matter.

On March 6, 1865, Sanford Fuller married Elizabeth Hardman in Almira Township, Benzie County, Michigan. They had the following children: Sarah Ann Fuller (1866-1939), Ada Jane Fuller (1867-1935), and Matilda Elizabeth Fuller (1869-1931).
