Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton are in charge of arrangements.∼Mrs. Dorine Hutcheson, age 82 of Soperton, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
Born in Montgomery County, she was the eldest of seven children born to the late Alfred Walter Norfleet and Lessie Mae Edge Johnson. She and her siblings lived in Montgomery and Tattnall County before moving to Soperton in the early 1960s.
Mrs. Hutcheson had worked for a period of time as a seamstress at Oxford Manufacturing, as well as a machine operator at Federal Pacific. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, reading her Bible, and completing word search puzzles.
Mrs. Hutcheson had been a member at Zaidee Advent Christian Church and Blackville Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Hutcheson, a brother, Alfred Norfleet, and three sisters, Winifred Norfleet, Virginia Denmark and Frances Hall.
She leaves behind three sons, James Norfleet (Debra) of Lyons, Bobby Norfleet (Donna) of Lyons, Lloyd Norfleet (Diane) of Soperton; a daughter, Barbara Campbell (Jack) of Hazlehurst; twin brothers, Kenneth “Muscles” Norfleet and Benneth (Benny) Norfleet; a sister, Ollie Norfleet, all of Soperton; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 28, in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Steptoe officiating. Mrs. Hutcheson will be laid to rest beside her husband in Hutcheson Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
