OJO ENCINO, N.M. — Graveside service for Alice Lopez, 98, of Ojo Encino, New Mexico, were held July 9 at the Ojo Encino Cemetery with Tulie Butler officiating.
Alice was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Counselor, New Mexico, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Nihoobáanii (Gray Streaked-Ends Clan). She passed away July 1, 2019.
Alice was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, weaving rugs, sheepherding and spending time with her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her sons, Ted Lopez, Daniel Lopez and Dick Lopez Jr.; daughters, Lena Lopez, Cora Charlie and Corrine Herrera; brothers, Ben Martinez, Tommy Martinez Sr. and Raymond Martinez; sisters, Betty Largo and Mary M. Clah; and 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Lopez Sr.; daughter, Corrine Herrera; sons, Bobby Martinez and Eddie Lopez; and parents, Padro and Asan Etsuey Martine.
Daniels Family Funeral Services—Alameda Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
