Earnest B. Carnahan, Jr. son of the late Earnest Bryan Carnahan, Sr. and Lilly (Boyer) Carnahan was born March 12, 1926 in Garwood, Missouri and departed this life April 28, 2012 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He had attained the age of eighty-six years, one month and sixteen days.
Mr. Carnahan was a lifetime resident of Ellsinore, Missouri and was a retired farmer and formerly served as Carter County Clerk for sixteen years , retiring in 1990. He served two years in the United States Navy during World War II and was present during the Flag Ceremony at Hiroshima. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was also a 32degree Mason and fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He was a member of the Ellsinore Baptist Church in Ellsinore, Missouri.
On January 29, 1949 he was united in marriage to Wanda Edwina Carnahan, she survives. He is also survived by one son Ronald E. Carnahan and his wife, Kathy of Ellsinore; daughter-in-law, Sandy Carnahan of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Frankie Carnahan of Ohio; four grandchildren, Bryan Carnahan, Lauren Carnahan and Heather Carnahan all of Poplar Bluff, and Melissa Cox and husband (Gene) of Ellsinore; one great-grandchild, Courtney Marler and many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Carnahan; one brother, Clyde Irvin Carnahan and two sisters, Maxine Roark and Reva Aubuchon.
