Our hero and loving mom, grandma, and wife, Sandra Marie Gillen, passed away surrounded by loved ones in her home on July 7, 2019 to be reunited with family and friends on the other side of the veil.

Sandra was born August 21, 1944 in Salt Lake City to goodly parents, Bert Frederick and Wanda Eloise Kidman. Sandra graduated from Olympus High School in 1962.

Sandra was married for time and all eternity to her sweetheart, Arnold Dean Gillen, in the Logan Temple on May 14, 1965 and was blessed with four wonderful children: Eric (Kim) Gillen, Launie Belnap, Roanna (Jeff) Rich, and Everett Gillen. She cherished her twelve grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, great-grandchildren on the way, and her bunny, Midnight. Family meant everything to her.

Sandra loved her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ and she knew they loved her. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved sharing it with everyone she met. One of her highlights was serving a full-time mission with her sweetheart in the Salt Lake West Mission. She loved bringing joy to others and was genuinely concerned for them. Not only did she believe but she lived by example with her selfless acts of love and endless acts of charity and forgiveness. She truly was a great instrument in the hands of God in bringing about His great work.

Thanks for being our amazing angel. We love you so much!

Sandra wanted to thank all of her wonderful caregiver friends and especially her family in helping her get through this hardship.

There will be a viewing held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Taylorsville Thirteenth Ward Building, 1495 West Tamarack Road (4630 South), Taylorsville. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you continue her legacy by paying it forward and giving to someone in need and forgive and love everyone around you.
