Lesley Grabow died Feb. 23

Lesley Otto Grabow, former Donnybrook area farmer passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23 at his home in Surrey. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. from Surrey Church of the Brethren.

He was born Aug. 6, 1915 at Aurelia, and was reared and attended school in Donnybrook where he graduated in 1933.

Following graduation he helped on the family farm, and several winters, worked in the lumber camps in Idaho and Washington.

He married Louise Elker in 1937. They farmed in the Donnybrook area until 1949, when they moved to Idaho, constructing bridges there. A year later, they returned to N.D. and farmed in the Surrey area until 1976. He then worked for the Federal Crop Ins, Agency, Minot, until June 1980, when he retired because of ill health due to bone cancer.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Warren of Atwater, Calif., daughters, Mrs. Keith (Geraldine) Burns, Surrey; and Mrs. Marshall (Janice) Weston, Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Mrs, Lydia Grabow, Fargo; brothers, Wayne, Surrey and Glen, rural Plaza; sisters, Mrs. Reinhold (Mildred) Elker and Mrs. Leonard (Grace) Elker, both Surrey, Mrs. John (Pearl) Wright, Neche, N.D. and Mrs. Arthur (Edna) Bott of Donnybrook.

His father, William, and sister, Violet Magg preceded him in death.
