Maxine was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Maxine was one of three daughters of John Arthur McNeil and Mary Mecham McNeil. The McNeil family moved from Blackfoot Idaho to Salt Lake in 1929. Maxine was the first of John and Mary's children to be born in Salt Lake.
Maxine attended West High School.

In 1951 Maxine met Loren Wendell through a cousin while Loren was going to Utah State College in Logan Ut. Loren and Maxine was married on Aug 24 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church of Logan in Logan, Cache County, Utah by Rev Miner E. Bruner, Brides Maid was Maxine's sister Betty Moffit and Best Man was Dave Brown.

The young clouple lived in Salt Lake City. There they had two daughters Deborah and Lydia. Together they raised Maxine's two children from first marriage and their two daughters. While Children were in school Maxine was very active in the PTA [Parent Teachers Association]

Maxine along the side of Loren they were both very active in raised and showed Bulldogs, Labrador Retrievers and Scottish Terriers. They would travel through out the Rock Mountain area and the Northwest showing and handling dogs while raising her family.

It was in 1973 that Maxine and Loren along with their 2 daughters Deborah and Lydia moved to Hillsboro Oregon. There the coupled worked with the local dog breeders and help start the Tualatin Kennel Club. Maxine would travel with Loren to different states when Loren was judging dog shows.

Maxine's biggest delights was he grandchildren, working at the Portland Or. January dog shows and visit with many old friends from other states while they were here for the dog shows.
Maxine judged in both AKC shows and for the 4-H fair shows though out Oregon and Washington State.

After the lost of her husband Maxine carried on Loren message about cancer and smoking. Never to have smoked a day in her life Maxine was to lose her life to cancer. It wasn't until four months before she died that she found a doctor that would finally told her the truth that Maxine had cancer. Maxine lost her short battle while far from home in a hospital to Kiddney Cancer.
