Ethel M. Mishoe
NEWPORT NEWS - Ethel M. Mishoe, 82, a resident of Newport News since 1945, died Nov. 28, 2004. She was born on Aug. 27, 1922, in Howard, Pa. She retired in September 1984 from Newport News Shipbuilding. She was very proud of her service to the Shipyard in support of the U.S. Navy, and to the defense of her country. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a former member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was the widow of Boyd Mishoe Sr. and is survived by four children, Darl Carlton of Newport News, Hazel Carlton of Newport News, Doris Howe of Frankfort, Ky., and Barbara Rauch of Hampton; one brother, Lee Heverly of Beech Creek, Pa.; and one sister, Viola Pifer of Centre Hall, Pa. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Faith Baptist Church on Blackburn Lane, Hampton, followed by the funeral service at noon in the church officiated by the Rev. Jim Anderson. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the church for dinner after the services. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at Riverside Regional Medical Center for their kindness to our mother, and to her faithful pastor, Reverend Jim Anderson. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
