Mrs. N.P. Ridout was born in Panola Co. MS. March 12, 1856 and died at her home on San Antonio St. in Lockhart on Friday Aug. 24, 1928.
Her maiden name was Cornelia Antoinette Wells. She was married to N.P. Ridout on Mar. 12, 1874. She united with the Christian Church in early life and was a faithful member at the time of her death. Interment was made in Lockhart Cemetery late in the afternoon of the day of her death. Services were conducted by her paster, Dr. C.E. Moore of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Ridout was one of those genuinely good Christian woman, a homemaker and a home keeper. She was recognized in her community as one of the most devoted and sacrificing mothers. Mrs. Ridout is survived by her husband N.P. Ridout, and children, Mrs. A.R. Chapman, Mrs. W. Karl Harris, W.B. Ridout, all of Lockhart and Mrs. C.R. Brown of Tynan, TX. a nephew, Claud Wells of Orange, who she reared and a sister Mrs. Geneva Perry of Markham.
