CHESTER LEE BENTLEY, 68 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA following an extended illness. Born in Grundy he was the son of the late Gennessee and Gracie (Adkins) Bentley. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and was a retired coalminer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1-Brother: James Bentley, 5-Sisters: Ocie, Dorothy, Edith, Flo and Norma.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter: Michelle (Eric) Hackney, Poplar Creek, VA, 2-Brothers: Levi Bentley, Grundy, VA, Exodus Bentley, Grundy, VA; 4-Sisters: Barbara Ellen Hilton, Elkhorn, KY, Emma Jean Fletcher, Charleston, WV, Sylvia O’Quinn, Grundy, VA, Mary Ellen Duncan, Beckley, WV; 1-Granddaughter: Kaitlin Hackney.
Also survived by several nieces, nephews and former wife Connie Ramey.
Funeral Services for CHESTER LEE BENTLEY will be conducted Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. William L. Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bentley Family Cemetery on 6&20 Mile Branch, Grundy, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Randy Stiltner, Thomas Bentley, Josh Bentley, Terry Stiltner, Bob Ratliff, Sid Stiltner, Derek Stiltner, Rick Bowman and Eric Hackney.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his McDonald Pack.
