Mary Ellen Bentley-Duncan-Lester-Smith, age 66, of Beckley, WV, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Harper Mills nursing home in Beckley, WV. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Smith was born on December 28, 1952 in Grundy, VA. She was one of thirteen children to the late Gennessee Bentley (1910-1985) and Gracie Adkins-Bentley (1913-1987). She was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband, Clarence Lester (Deceased); her third husband, Kermit Smith (Deceased); and five sisters and two brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include the father of her children, Thomas Duncan; three daughters, Tenisia "Sissy" Duncan-Jarrell, Teresa Duncan and Marylou Duncan and their companions; her five grandchildren, Nicole McBride, Cecil Jarrell, William McBride Savannah and James Rice; three sisters, Sylvia Bentley, Emma Jean Bentley, and Barbara Bentley; two brothers, Levi Bentley and Exodus Bentley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel on Friday, January 25, 2019 at noon with Rev. Jim Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
