Jean Spears Gevedon, 81 died at home Tuesday, June 18, 2019 after a short illness. A Madison County native, born December 5, 1937 in Berea, daughter of the late Dewey and Lucy Williams Spears. Jean married the late J.T. Gevedon, and was a homemaker and Real Estate agent and was a member of the Hays Fork Baptist Church. Jean loved gardening vegetables and flowers, singing, and loved teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, cooking and was known for her spotless clean house. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and caregiver for her family and for the entire community she loved.
Jean is survived by three children, Mike (Mary) Gevedon, Cordell (Kathy) Gevedon, and Patti (Mark) Wilds; sister Allene Richie; grandchildren Jacquelyn, Jeremy, Michelle, Tonya, Jara and Casey; great-grandchildren, Justin, Joseph, Jasmine, Ashley, J.T., Michael, Kaitlyn, Brysen, Kairi, Lily, Kennedy, Stella, Zachary and Luke; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband J.T., she is preceded in death by siblings Ann Caho and James Spears and great-granddaughters Aliyah and Autumn.
Visitation is after 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2019 at Reppert Funeral Home. The funeral is Saturday at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Brother Wayne Harding officiating. Interment is at Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Joseph Kelley, John Abrams, Jason Martin, Kevin Snyder, Kris Felty, Phillip Jurgensen. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Casteel, Mark Borders, Mitch Elam, Jeremy Gevedon, Lyndon Richie and Charles Richie, Jr.
