Joseph F. Matson, 48, 1953 North 26th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, a veteran of World War I, passed away on Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Wadsworth, Kansas. He was survived by a sister, Mrs. Jack Jarsulic, and a son, Edward Frank Matson, of the home; three other sisters, Mrs. William Cree of 53 South 20th and Mrs. Frank Mufic of 1849 North 24th, and Mrs. Clarence Bosley of 1848 North 37th, all of Kansas City, Kansas; four brothers, Martin Matson of 503 Walnut, John Matson of 409 North Fifth and Mathew Matson of 519 Splitlog of, all of Kansas City, Kansas, and Albert Matson of Albany, Georgia.

The Rosary was recited on Sunday evening at the John Stine Funeral Chapel, where friends called throughout the day. Funeral services were held on Monday morning from the John Stine Chapel, followed by the Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Cemetery records list Mr. Matson's cause of death as tuberculosis.
