McConnell Rites Held At Murray
Died At Home there At Age of 53 years
Glenn D McConnell of Murray, died at his home there Jan. 7 after a long illness. He was 53 years old.

Glenn Dale, son of George and Rebecka McConnell was born in Ringgold County, near Mount Ayr, Iowa, June 29, 1891, and passed away January 7, 1945 at the age of fifty-three years, six months and eight days.

Mr. McConnell lived most all his life in Ringgold and Clarke Counties, in Iowa. He was on the farm for several years, and after moving to Murray, he followed the carpenter trade and painting.

He was united in marriage with Alice Buteher on June 11, 1911. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter. Those who survive him are the wife, three sons, Leland, somewhere in Germany, Vernon, somewhere in England, and Harold, all in the service of their country,. One daughter, Mrs. Ruth Cooper of Los Angeles, California. One grandson Michael Dean, son of Leland McConnell, born Jan. 7, 1945, at Fair View, Montana. The mother, Mrs. Rebecka McConnell of Beaconsfield, Iowa. Five brothers, Ralph of Cherokee, Iowa, Hale of Macon, Mo., Hoyle of Van Wert, Guy of Aidah, Neb. and Jap of Creston; also two sisters, Mrs. Alta Stuits of Maywood, Ill. and Mrs. Opal Sparks of Moses Lake, Wash. One grandson Michael Dean, son of Leland McConnell, born Jan. 7, 1945, at Fair View, Montana. The mother, Mrs. Rebecka McConnell of Beaconsfield, Iowa. Five brothers, Ralph of Cherokee, Iowa, Hale of Macon, Mo., Hoyle of Van Wert, Guy of Aidah, Neb. and Jap of Creston; also two sisters, Mrs. Alta Stuits of Maywood, Ill. and Mrs. Opal Sparks of Moses Lake, Wash. There are other relatives and friends.
