Elizabeth Rieber Hillenbrand, 75, of Evansville passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Linda E. White Hospice House after a 5 ½ year struggle with breast cancer. Betty was born October 7, 1943 in Evansville to the late Julius and Louise (French) Rieber.

Betty was a 1961 graduate of Mater Dei High School. She was employed for 38 years at D. Patrick, starting out as a Title Clerk, then became Office Manager at the downtown facility, then transferring to the eastside office as Payroll Manager. She lived and breathed D. Patrick. She was a quiet, unassuming lady but very strong in her convictions and her faith. Betty and David were members of St. Benedict Cathedral and also attended St. John’s Church Daylight for the last fifteen years after building a home in the Blue Grass area. Betty was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that anyone could have and will be greatly missed by a large family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, David of 30 years; children, Vickie (Dennis) Bester, Tammy Bainbridge, David (Angie) Bainbridge, David Hillenbrand, Lisa (Mike) Pharr, Daniel Hillenbrand, Chris (Maria) Hillenbrand, Laura Hillenbrand, and Stephen (Lynn) Hillenbrand; grandchildren, Elena Bester, Liz Bester, Drew (Amanda) Bainbridge, Michael (Talitha) Bainbridge, Jason (Kelsey) Pharr, Justin (Britany) Hillenbrand, Tracy Hillenbrand, Ashley (Ryan) Osborn, Jeremy (Megan) Hillenbrand, Hannah Hillenbrand, Jared Hillenbrand, and Jacob Hillenbrand; 15 great grandchildren; brother, David (Shirley) Rieber; sisters, Judy (Nick) Wolf, Paulette Harralson, and Donna (Jerry) Greenwood; and friends and people who cherished her more than she ever thought.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Rieber.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, June 17, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave. with Father Godfrey Mullen and Father Chris Forler officiating. Burial will be later at St. John’s Cemetery Daylight.
