Mrs. Eloise Smith Cardwell, age 87, of LaGrange, passed away on June 1, 2019, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. Mrs. Cardwell was born on April 25, 1932, in Heard County to the late Harvey Smith and Elsie Shirey Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall “Joe” Cardwell; son, Michael Ray Cardwell; granddaughter, Tiffany Cardwell; sisters, Edna Smith, Florene Purcell and Annette Burk. She was a homemaker, caring for the needs of her family and playing a big part in the lives of her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Freddie Cardwell and his wife Valerie; daughter, Connie Hinkle and her husband Rick; brothers, Wayne Smith (Vicki), Raymond Smith and Paul Smith; grandchildren, Michelle Cardwell, Michael Hinkle (Renee), Cara Spradlin (Joshua), Justin Cardwell (Tiffany), Josh Cardwell (Krystal), Sydney Rusk (Ethan) and Brandon Bowles (Dallas); great grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Adalyn, Olivia, Jessie, Brantley, Livi Rene, Savannah and Gracie; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with the Rev. Jason May officiating. Interment will follow at the Shadowlawn Cemetery.
