Lucy Beatrice Lamb Shrader, 85, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019. She was born on August 25, 1933 in Amherst, VA to the late William and Mary Lamb. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Helen Hunt; brother, William Lamb, Jr.; and daughter, Pamela Lynn Sale and husband Danny.
Lucy lived in Amherst her entire life. She was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and was known for her cooking in the Amherst community. Lucy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lucy is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Granville Shrader; sons, William Shrader and wife Peggy, James Shrader and wife Patty; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Driskill Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Sardis United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Powell and Rev. C. Randall Harlow officiating. Burial will follow the service at Tudor Hall Cemetery.
