She was the wife of Wayland Jordan for 67 years.
She was born on September 20, 1929 in Rochelle, Tx. Daughter of Nathaniel Gault and Ruth (Hamilton) Gault
She grew up in Rochelle and Placid attending local schools, graduating as valedictorian of Rochelle High School and attended Howard Payne University.
Wilma was a wonderfully kind and gentle person, a devoted, faithful wife and homemaker. She traveled with her husband, first to Okinawa as he served in the Korean War and then around the world as he traveled with his job in the oil industry. She had unwavering love for her children and grandchildren. Forty-one years of her life were dedicated to the care of her handicapped child Jennifer.
Wilma was a faithful Christian. Her grandfather Hamilton was the first pastor of Placid Baptist Church and her grandfather Gault donated the land for the Placid school, Baptist Church, and cemetery. He and his sons helped build the church. Wilma led the choir during her teenage years. She was a member of numerous Baptist churches as she moved with her husband including First Baptist Houston for 45 years and Sugar Land Baptist Church for 12 years. She loved children and taught Sunday school for 4 and 5 year olds for 20 years.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, she is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Lee Jordan, by her parents Nat and Ruth Gault, and by her sisters and brothers, and their spouses.
She is survived by her husband Wayland Jordan, her daughter Carol Crews and husband Randy of Sugar Land, Tx, her son Mark Jordan and wife Debbie of Frisco, Tx, her grandchildren Courtney Rai and husband Surjit, Christina Crews and husband Darien Perez, Cyndi Crews, Kevin Jordan, and Daniel Jordan and her great grandchildren Elliana Crews, Aria Rai, and Andres Jordan.
Visitation will be at the Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 11am, Placid Cemetery.
