15 Jun 2007: Rev. Eugene R. "Pappy" Burns, 77, Highspire, was welcomed by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in his home. He was the Pastor of Highspire Full Gospel Church of God, U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired manager of the former Metz and Sons Hardware, Camp Hill. Eugene is survived by his wife of 12 ½ years, Loretta Hubbard Burns; children Penny Mason and Patty Tamayo, both of Linglestown, Oran Burns, Hershey and Sharon Burns, Highspire; four stepsons; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Alice Burns Coffman, Huntingdon; brothers Domer Burns, Huntingdon and Claire Burns, San Diego, CA. Funeral Tuesday, June 19, at Highspire Full Gospel Church of God, Highspire, Mr. Jeffrey Stefan officiating. Burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
