Daughter of Clara Waterman (Record) and Edwin Ruthvern Churchill.

Lived in Kearney and worked in the Kearney Cottonmill near the Kearney Lake. Came to North Platte in 1899 at 17 years old and lived with her sister Mrs. B. Tatom, Aunt Mamie.

She met Thomas Edward Jeffers and went with him several months before their marriage. Mary worked for Amanda Huffman in her Millinery shop. They made women's hats. Thomas was a Roman Catholic and Mary had not professed any religious faith. Mrs. Huffman helped Mary to decide to become a Catholic when she married Thomas.

Father T.P. Haley married them at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte on August 20, 1900. Witnesses were John Bloemer and Annie Jeffers.

In June 1901 Thomas' niece, Vera Scharmann, came to live with them. She made her home there until 1913 when she went to San Francisco with the Huffman's to live.

Mary and Thomas had 12 children - Genevieve Mildred, William Edward, Charles Thomas, Pauline Agnes, Margaret Caroline, Irene Agatha, James Richard, Vira Edwina, Alice Meredith, Mary Jane Alberta, Arthur Anthony and Paul Eugene Churchill Jeffers.

Pauline Agnes Jeffers Roddy is buried in the Fort McPherson
National Cemetery. He page manager is inactive so we are unable to put in the family link to her parents.
