Wes Corder was born in Lexington, Texas on June 10, 1931 to Eugene and Anna (Pounders) Corder. He attended school in Lexington and graduated from Milano High School. On October 6, 1951 he and Beatrice Newchurch were married in Cameron, Texas. From 1952 to 1954 he served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant. After his honorable discharge, they lived in Houston where he worked with American Can Company as their shipping and receiving manager, retiring in 1979 after 30 years. They moved to Rockdale in 1980, where he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #7014 and the Lions Club. Wes passed away Monday afternoon, May 13, 2019 in the S.P.J.S.T. Nursing Home in Taylor.
