Services for Cecil Fox, 90, of Winters, formerly of Spur, were at 2 p.m. December 10, 1991, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ned Hicks, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell´s Funeral Home.
Mr. Fox died December 8, 1991 in North Runnels Hospital in Winters. He was born June 21, 1901 in Limestone County.
He started barbering at age 16 and moved to Spur in 1920. He married Verna Roberts on March 15, 1923 in Spur. He worked as State Game Warden until his retirement in 1968.
He moved to Winters in 1980 and was a member of the First Christian Church in Spur; a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He served as president of the Caprock Peace Officers Assn. for many years. He was also noted as an expert on rattlesnakes. His wife preceded him in death in 1986.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia and Calvin Holloway, Winters, a brother, Jesse Fox, Austin, two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Caprock Peace Officers Assn.
