Upon being shipped back to the U.S. on the RMS Aquitania from his last military assignment in England from 1943 to 1945 (during WWII), Warrant Officer Russell Garlow is sent by military plane from the east coast, to Elmendorf Field at Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska.

His wife, with their young son, drives up to Palmer, Alaska from Cheyenne, Wyoming to stay for Russell's 4 year assignment there.

Mrs. Russell Garlow niece of Mr. Ralph Ware, is staying with her aunt, Mrs. Ware, this summer.

GARLOW-Chief Warrant Officer Russell W. Garlow, having completed his Alaskan tour of duty, was scheduled to leave Alaska this month for reassignment in the states. Warrant Officer Garlow, formerly of Lansing, will be assigned to the 98th bomb wing, Spokane air force base, Washington. He is a former student of Okemos high school, and entered active duty with the armed forces in 1931. He graduated from the army signal school, Fort Monmouth, N. J. in 1933. He served in the European theater of operations for two years with the air force. He has been stationed at the Elmendorf air force base at Fort Richardson.
