Graveside services for Freeman Darrell Clifton, 78, of Spur were at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2000 with Bob Martin and Tommy Henderson officiating. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died Thursday, October 5 at the Crescent Care Center in Spur. He was born June 25, 1922 in Newcastle, Texas. He married Nedra Carr May 15, 1942 in Newcastle. He was a Veteran in the Army Airforce during World War II. He was a self-employed auto mechanic for many years in Spur. He lived in Spur since 1956 coming from Newcastle. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include wife, Nedra Clifton of Spur; one son, Darrell Clifton of Spur; one daughter, Vanita Smithey of Houston; one sister, Mozelle Chappell of Newcastle; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren

Pallbearers were Gwyn Long, Nig Wyatt, Ronnie White, Benny Robertson, Larry Taylor, and Gary Rainbolt. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Baird, Dale Smith and Wayne Davis.
