Isaac Clifton, 73, was a retired farmer. William O. Hall, minister of the church of Christ in Olney officiated for his services. Clifton was a native of Young County and a longtime resident of Newcastle.

Isaac Clifton married Miss Jessie Scobee, daughter of B.F. Scobee - Sarah Webb on 19 May 1901 at Young County, Texas.

Survived by his wife; two sons - Oland Clifton and Freeman Clifton; one daughter - Mrs. J.C. Chappell; two brothers - Wilse Clifton and Watt Clifton; four sisters - Mrs. Tom McBride, Mrs. Dell Dake, Mrs. Bill Dennis, Mrs. Frances Holcomb; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The Clifton family established the Clifton School which was located seven miles west of Newcastle, Texas.

They were longtime members of the Church of Christ. The Clifton and Morgan families assisted with the establishment of the Newcastle Church of Christ years ago.
