Elizabeth "Betty" J. Folkersma (Leep), aged 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 3, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Betty was a cherished mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was passionate about her Lord and serving others through various ministries throughout her whole life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; brothers, Andrew, Jerry, Dave Leep; sisters, Claire Kimm, Carolyn Leep; brothers-in-law, John Kinna, Bill Blake, Alex Kimm; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Verna (Dave) Evertsberg.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Joy Folkersma, Jeralyn Folkersma; granddaughters, Angie and Judy Folkersma; brothers, Bill (Fran) Leep, Eldon (Sheri) Leep; sisters, Arlene Blake, Lois (Don) Morren, Mary Ann (Roger) VanDyken, Dorothy Kinna; sisters-in-law, Linda Leep, Arla Leep; and many loved nieces and nephews.

I Corinthians 2:9 "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him."

A service celebrating her life will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 17, at First Byron Center Christian Reformed Church, 2450 85th St., SW, with Pastor Tom Groelsema officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to Crossroads Bible Institute or Voice of the Martyrs. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, May 16, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home.
