On December 20, 1936, she was united in marriage to Reinhardt “Reiny” Stuhr at the Peace Lutheran Church, Waco. She and Reiny were members of Peace Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Aid. They made their home near Waco until Reiny retired at 65. Ella enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, and needlework, trying to beat Reiny at a game of Pitch, and spending time with her family and friends. They truly enjoyed many travels together.
She is survived by her children, Roger Stuhr of Waco, and his daughters Tiffany (Tim) Geis of Lincoln, and Carri (Aaron) Stuhr of St. Paul, MN; Ronald (Alice) Stuhr, and their son Matt, of Topeka, KS; Kenneth (Jan) Stuhr, of Waco, and their children Scott (Tammy) Stuhr of Central City, Autumn (Kip) Reeves, of Auburn, and Travis Stuhr and Lisa Cravens of York; Pastor Lloyd Stuhr of Plattsmouth, and his daughters Angela (Mike) Hoernemann of Shakopee, MN, and Megan Stuhr of La Vista.
She is also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Esther Wellman, daughters-in-law Linda Stuhr and Twila Stuhr.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco. Interment followed in the Waco Cemetery.
