Nettie Lee Brendle Stalcup, 76, of Brasstown, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in Talking Rock, Ga.

A native and lifelong resident of Clay and Cherokee counties, she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Mae Roach Brendle. She worked for Berkshire, Levi's, Blackhawk Industries and Peachtree Products as a sewing machine operator.

She was a member of Fires Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Stalcup; one sister, Flora Ledford; and one brother, Fred Brendle.

Surviving are one son and his wife, Mike and Sara Stalcup of Talking Rock; one daughter and her husband, Jennifer Stalcup Lee and Adrian Lee of Brasstown; one sister, Bonnie Luther of Andrews; four grandchildren, Daniel Stalcup, Samantha Newman, Brandon Brooks and Tyler Lee; two great-grandchildren, Tabitha Newman and Haleigh Stalcup: several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Brother Donald Cook and Brother Dallas Crowder officiated. Music was by Fires Creek Church Choir. Burial was in Maggie's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brasstown. Pallbearers were Brandon Brooks, Daniel Stalcup, Tim Newman, Hardy Luther, James Young and Garland Hogsed. Honorary pallbearers were Corbet Luther, Tyler Lee, Tim Payne and Scott Payne.
