Mr. David Voorhest, 85, of Anniston, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Voorhest is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Voorhest; parents, Homer and Marion Voorhest; and brothers, Homer B. Voorhest and Kenneth Voorhest.
Mr. Voorhest was born in Glen Cove, Long Island New York. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired from Allied Signal Aerospace. He was active in Boy Scouts, umpired for Little League Baseball for ten years in Arizona, and was active in the father/son Indian Guides Organization. Mr. Voorhest was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelly Brien (Robert); son, Mark Voorhest (Jonah); grandchildren, Katie Riggs, Caroline Voorhest, Savanna Booker, Kara Jones, and Haley Brien; and great-grandchildren, Kayliana Booker, Breana Booker, Lily Jones, Grace Escobar, Francesca Riggs, Jocelyn Booker, Myles David Riggs, and Phoenix Jones.
