Elsie Mae Carrico, 90, of Danville, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Matilda Hamm; eight brothers, Frank, Fred, Gene, Roy, Coy, Conley, McKinley, and Jr.; her sister, Ada; husbands, John Spinks and Glen K. Carrico; and her daughter, Brenda.

Mae was born in Bland, Virginia on March 5, 1929. She spent her life caring for others and putting their needs above her own. She attended Cox’s Fork Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the choir. She made many friends there and loved her church family. She truly lived out her faith and was a wonderful woman of God. She was a dedicated mother and treasured her children. She loved her role as mamaw and embraced every moment with them.

She is survived by her greatest accomplishments, her four children, John (Teresa) Spinks, Beverly (Dave) Bowman, Cheryl (Mark) Springs, Robert (Misty) Carrico; eight grandchildren, Ricky (Mandy), Ashley (Rusty), Brittney (Dustin), Megan, Shawn, and Corey, (Kayla), Brady, and Jacob; ten great-grandchildren, Chole, Claudia, Addyson, Harper, Luke, Brody, Talon, Brody, Aubrey, and McKenna. She also leaves behind her beloved pet Sadie; and many nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.

Please join us for celebrating her life at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29 at Cox’s Fork Freewill Baptist Church, Danville with Harley Egnor Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park.
