Robert Chilcote
August 13, 1918 — October 12, 2005
Robert was born August 13, 1918, at Orrville, Ohio, the son of Arthur E. and Gertrude (Rutter) Chilcote. After high school Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1938. He served with General Patton's 7th Army with the 319th Combat Engineers during WW II. He retired with 21 years of active duty, having served at the Berlin Airlift in 1948 and in Guam during the Korean War. He was married to Lillian Pederson of Rake, Iowa on October 10, 1964 in Minneapolis. They moved to Blue Earth where Bob worked as Parts Manager at Gerring Industries and later as Smith Sales & Service at parts manager. He was also an Insurance agent with Northwestern Life Insurance Company and later as an independent agent. He was active in the Faribault Co. Republican Party, served as an Executive and one term as Chairman of District 32. He also served as a delegate to the State Convention and as a Primary Judge for the 1983 elections. Robert was baptized at the Orrville Alliance Church in Orrville, Ohio and served the lord in prison ministry work and working in orphanages. He was a member of Dell Lutheran Church, rural Frost .He is survived by his wife: Lillian Chilcote, Blue Earth, daughter: Beth (& husband David) Snodderly of Pasadena, California, daughter, Carol A. (& husband Rick) Riley, Puyallup, Washington, daughter, Ginny (& husband Sam) Sallee of St. Charles, Missouri, brother, Floyd Chilcote of Ohio, brother, Lester Chelcote of Nevanda and 7 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
