LeRoy Emil VanLoo, 89, of Jefferson City, passed away on Palm Sunday, April 14, 2019, at River City Living Community. He was born August 13, 1929, in Folk, the son of the late Joseph Henry and Regina Cecelia (Feltrop) VanLoo. He was a graduate of Westphalia High School. LeRoy served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army. Retiring in 1998, he worked thirty-eight years as an Administrative Assistant for the Missouri Department of Health. A devout Christian, LeRoy was a faithful member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and in earlier years, while growing up in Folk, he was a member of St. Anthony of Padua where he served as a sacristan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. LeRoy was devoted to his parents and cared for them in their later years. He was kind and generous with all people and volunteered daily at the Carmelite Monastery. He loved animals especially dogs.

Survivors include a sister, JoAnn (James) Winkelman, Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Rose (Clem) Distler, and Lucille (Vince) Koerber. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen and Rev. Joshua J. Duncan con-celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery, Folk, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 2305 W. Main St., Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to the Carmelite Monestary, 1106 Swifts Highway, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
