Born in Maryville, TN

Oscar Samuel Truman Best, beloved husband and father went to join our Lord on April 16, 2019, at the age of 90 years old. He is known as "Gabby" and retired from Blount County Highway Dept. with 34 years of service. He is a member of Mountain View Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Truman and Gertrude Best; brothers, Roscoe Best and Charles Best; sisters, Myrle Alloway and Irene Carpenter.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 64 years, Irene Downey Best. He also leaves behind his loving immediate family: Terry Best (Treva), Randy Best (Felicia), Janice Hale (Dave), Nancy Taylor (Steve); grandchildren: Kasey Livingston and Lacey Taylor; great-grandchild: Katelyn Best; sisters and brothers: Wilma, Edna Ruth, Mary Martha, Erma Grace, Tommy (Sue), Larry (Sandra), Wayne (Loretta), Nora Etta (sister-in-law); and many nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

He will be greatly missed, but we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with our Lord above.

The graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at Mountain View Church of Christ on Six Mile Rd. Friends and family may call at their convenience Thursday, April 18, 2019, between 12-5 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make donations to Mountain View Church of Christ cemetary fund in his loving memory.
