College Basketball Coach. He was the Men's basketball coach of the University Of Tennessee from 1963 until 1977. In his career his teams won 399 games, lost 135, and he never had a losing season (previous to his University of Tennessee career he coached at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio). He was a showman in marketing the Mens' program at Tennessee, coining the phrase "Big Orange Country". During his fifteen seasons, the University of Tennessee won twenty or more games seven times and finished third or better in the NCAA's Southeaster Conference in 13 of 15 seasons. He coached three SEC Championship teams (1967, 1972, and 1977).
