Mrs Eudocia Landers, of Troutville, is dead at her home here. She was born in Monroe County, West Virginia, on the 29th day of June, 1829, and was 95 years and 3 days old when death called her home. She was the wife of Thomas Landers, deceased, and was the mother of five sons and one daughter. Two sons are deceased. The living sons are L M Landers of Lithia, G W Landers of Troutville, and C F Landers of Roanoke. Mrs T M Matheny, of Troutville, is the daughter.
Mrs Landers lived at Troutville for many years and has always been a most gentle, loving, and devoted mother and a very faithful member of the church. She belonged to the Church of the Brethren of Troutville. A large circle of devoted friends and relatives will remember her winsome life with peculiar pleasure and desire to duplicate it in their own living.
The funeral services were conducted in the Church of the Brethren at Troutville by her former pastor, the Rev Walter M Kahle, and Dr George Braxton Taylor, of Hollins.
