AGNES FITZGERALD
Agnes R. Fitzgerald, age 79, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, died February 9, 2004. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Monroe Fitzgerald and is survived by her husband, Charles A. Fitzgerlad; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Jan and Jim Soapes; son, Timothy Scott Fitzgerald, all of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Nick Fitzgerald, Keith Fitzgerald, Katie Fitzgerald Ross and Ania Alford and Jobe Alford; 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of Smokerise Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School class for 50 years at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she served her country as Rosie the Riveter during WWII. Mrs. Fitzgerald was comptroller of Fitzgerald Engineering corporation, the family business. She was 1 of the first 2 women Licensed Home Builders in Atlanta. Designed many homes in Hilton Head and the Atlanta area. She and her husband were co-founders of the Tucker Football Program which resides at Fitzgerald Field and celebrates its 50th year as one of the two largest youth football programs in America. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12 at 2:oo PM at Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating and Jamie Barlow Guinn and Dickie Barlow giving the eulogy. Tom M.
