LYNN - Joan Fudge, age 77, of Lynn, IN passed away early Saturday morning, June 9, 2007. She was born May 6, 1930 in Wayne County, Indiana, the daughter of Archie and Irene (Maines) Thornton. She was married August 6, 1949 to Marvin Fudge.
Before retiring in 1995, Joan was a Teacher's Aide at Randolph Southern Elementary for over twenty years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, Marvin Fudge; two sons, Greg Fudge (wife, Sylvia) and Scott Fudge (wife, Beverly); three daughters, Brenda Franklin (husband, Larry), Candi Smithson (husband, Mark) and Mary Gobbett (husband, Troy); a twin sister, June Alyea (husband, Jim); eight grandchildren, Kyle Smithson, Emily Smithson, Lyle Franklin, Alex Franklin, Hannah Franklin, Megan Fudge, Tyler Fudge and Lindsay Gobbett; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Sarah; a sister, Marifrances Jordan; and a brother, Bob Thornton.
A service to celebrate Joan's life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Thomas Memorial Chapel in Lynn, IN with Paul Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City, IN.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the funeral home.
