She gained her visa and started her entrepreneurship business in 1976. She was selling authentic items from her country. She traveled abroad to many different Islands and countries made a name for herself and her brand.
In 1976, Marie Antoine decided that she will make South Florida her permanent home and started the process of getting immigration paperwork to get her kids to be with her in Florida. She had a passion for sewing and landed a job with a factory that she loved and worked there for numerous years.
In 1999, she settled and purchased a home in Pompano Beach, Florida and has resided there for over 20 years.
In 2001, she was hospitalized with a massive heart attack and she was unable to continue to work at the factory but through the grace of God remained resilient, ambitious, humble, faithful and started sewing from home and was able to make ends meet for her family.
Her favorite pastime was gardening, riding on her 3 wheeler bike, sewing, going to the beach, outings with her children, during family functions and holidays, watching her Novellas on the Spanish channels (in which she speaks fluently), she enjoyed to travel and she also loved putting a smile on everyone’s face that was around her by making jokes.
On March 23, 2019 Marie Pierrela Antoine passed away following a series of health issues. She leaves behind 7 children, 15 grandchildren and host of cousins and people that loved her.
