Richard Francis Traughber, 87, of Springfield, died Friday, November 25, 2005, at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Beckman as Celebrant. Internment followed in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Mr. Traughber was born August 8, 1918 in Robertson County to the late Richard Godfrey and Mary Jane Adams Traughber.
He was a retired maintenance worker with Southern Heel and was a communicant of St. Michael Catholic Church. Mr. Traughber was preceded in death by his son Tim Traughber.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Heatherly Traughber of Springfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Joyce Traughber of Cedar Hill, Ray and Janie Traughber of Springfield, David Traughber of Cedar Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and James Elmore of Cedar Hill, Marilyn and Miles Curtis of Springfield, Connie and Joe Robertson of Springfield, Sharon and Ray Ford of Cottontown, Susan and Ernie Miller of White House, and Donna Ewing of Bellefontaine, Ohio; brothers Ed Traughber of Cedar Hill, Clarence Traughber of Amarillo, Texas; sisters: Dorothy Nalepa of Erie, PA, Alice Emrick of Phoenix, AZ, Jo Norris of Russellville, KY, Meb Crosman of Las Vegas, NV., grandchildren, Donna(Wayne) Groves, Laura(Joel) Lawson, Tracey Traughber, Hollace(Penny) Traughber, Scotty Elmore, Todd(Rhonda) Elmore, Terry Elmore, Jason Elmore, Ray(Kathy) Traughber, Jr., Chris(Stephanie)Traughber, Charity(Aaron) Dutton, Cindy(Bobby) Rye, Rhonda(Todd) Burnett, Steven Curtis, Brandon(Amanda) Ford, Rebecca Miller, Nick(Amy) Traughber, Jeremy, Jessica, Wesley, Sarah, Andy, Jennifer, and Matthew; 45 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
