Mary Christine “Chris” Ramsey, 82, of Flora for many years, passed peacefully on March 17, 2019 in California. She was born to the late Carl and Ollie Moore on September 24, 1936 in Vernon, AL.

Chris graduated from high school in Flora in 1955. She married Thomas Owen Ramsey and lived in Lafayette for a short time before moving to California in the mid 1960’s. They became parents to their only child, Tonya Kay Davis in 1968. They returned to Flora Indiana in 1989 where they remained until Tom’s passing in 2001. Shortly thereafter, Chris moved back to California to live near her daughter and son-in-law to enjoy time with her three grandsons.

During her lifetime, Chris was known as an extremely hard worker and a caring person. She took care of so many people and often helped family members who were in need. Chris enjoyed spending time with her family and her greatest joy came from her five great-grandchildren. Her family could always count on her to join them in a nice lunch and taking walks near the beach.

Chris is survived by one daughter and four sisters. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her brother, Carl S. Moore Jr.

A graveside service to remember Chris Ramsey will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
