She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Zaleta; four children, Clarence Zaleta, Gertrude Zaleta, George Zaleta and Helen Zaleta Dimmock; two grandsons, Alfred Dimmock and George Zaleta, Jr; two great-grandsons, Frank Dimmock and William Ponte; a brother, Martin Zmuda; and three sisters, Nellie A Zmuda Cerbin, Agnus Zmuda Czerwinski, and Tillie Zmuda Greenburg. She was survived by two daughters, Lillian Frances Zaleta McHenry and Dolores Zaleta McNamara; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Kruzil; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16, 1997 and Monday, November 17, 1997, at the Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, Calumet City, IL. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 17, 1997 at St Victor Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
