"Death of an Old Resident.
Mr. Amasa Child, a resident of Decorah and vicinity for a good many years, passed away on Friday at his home north of the city, from tuberculosis, from which he has been a sufferer for about two years, at the age of 67 years. He was born in Ohio Aug. 24, 1844, and has been a farmer here for many years. His wife died several years ago. he leaves to mourn his loss eight children, thre of whom are at home.
The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, Rev. W. M. Lemen officiating.
Mr. Child was a modest, unassuming man, honorable and upright in all his dealings, a good friend and neighbor, and his death will be mourned by a wide acquaintance."
