Little is known of the life of Harriet Fisher Claypool beyond the name of her husband (Mason, 1845 - ?) and the names of her five known children. In the census she last appears in 1900 living in Dallas TX with her widowed son James and her unmarried daughter Odella. Yet she must have been a remarkable woman to have produced a son like Robert, intelligent, civic-minded, and generous. His contributions to the community of Dudley, Lincoln Co., OK, may be read on the plaque attached to his FAG site. His spirit still lives on in his descendents, two of whom wrote the inscription on the plaque and several of whom still own land around Dudley. Family members say that, unable to locate Robert's grave, they put the plaque on Harriet's.
