HICKORY - Margie Yount Miller, 92, passed away Dec. 26, 2010, at the Lutheran Home -
East after a period of declining health. Margie was born July 25, 1918 in Catawba County
to the late Harvey and Mary Cook Yount Sr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Miller;
a sister, Kathleen Bowman; a brother, Harvey Yount Jr.; and a son-in-law, Leo Alexander.
She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and retired from Belk.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara Miller Spencer and husband, Johnny, of Conover and
Nancy Miller Alexander of Hickory; grandsons, Jeffery Alexander and wife, Debbie, of Con-
over and Todd Alexander and wife, Kandy, of Hickory; granddaughters, Melissa Gaillard
and husband, Will, of Taylorsville, Janet Spencer of Conover and Sharon Ellis and fiance,
Tony Midkiff, of Hickory; great-granddaughters, Tiffany Spencer of Taylorsville and Saman-
tha Alexander of Conover; great-grandson, Spencer Ellis of Hickory; sister, Jacksie Y. Brown
of Hildebran; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at 3 p.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, with the
Rev. Roger Beaver officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at
Hickory Funeral Home.
