He was born in St. Anthony, to John and Mary (Gross) Diller.
Surviving are two sisters, Sister Mary Adela Diller, Tiffin, and Ethel Boeckman, Coldwater; and two sisters-in-law, Anna Marie Diller, Sharpsburg, and Rita Diller, Coldwater.
Deceased are four brothers, Zeno, the Rev. Otto, Walter and Donald, and a sister, Adela.
He entered the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1922 and was ordained to the priesthood May 10, 1934. After working as assistant pastor at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dayton, he served as assistant procurator at St. Josephs College in Rensselaer from 1935-1938. He also served as professor of music and choir director until 1941, when he returned to parish ministry as assistant pastor at Resurrection Catholic Church in Cincinnati and then as pastor of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Hamilton, from 1942-1944.
In 1944, he went to work with the Catholic Rural Life Conference in Carthagena. He was assigned as pastor at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Mercer County in 1945 and also taught rural sociology to seminarians at St. Charles. In 1950, he was named superior at St. Mary Home, Burkettsville, appointed provincial secretary in 1953 and re-elected in 1959. He later served as rector and director of development at Brunnerdale, the societys high school seminary in Canton. In 1976, he went to Paducah, Ky., to work with his brother, the Rev. Otto Diller, at Lourdes Hospital before retiring to St. Charles Center in 1992.
